It was my first year going. I bought some pimp shirts from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.methodsnyc.com\/2005\">Methods NYC<\/a>, bought some CDs from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.doomtree.net\/\">Doomtree<\/a> artists and got to talk to Sims for a bit. We also got to talk to <a href=\"http:\/\/ramonarecords.com\/index.html\">Glue<\/a> and were able to get some CDs autographed by all the members as well as take a few pictures. The DJ battle, however, was a sham. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skratchbastid.com\/\">Skratch Bastid<\/a> was robbed. I mean, really, someone call the cops he was mugged. He got &#8220;beat&#8221; in the semi-final round by a DJ who fucked up a couple of spots in his set. The judges also &#8220;deliberated&#8221; for over 10 minutes, but refused to allow one more round which would have lasted 4 minutes on the grounds of &#8220;it would upset the schedule&#8221;. I think this was just scripted and a screwjob directed at Bastid. I emailed him my opinions and offered my support of his set and a couple of hours later I got this reply from him:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nThanks tim,<\/p>\n<p>i appreciate it, man.<\/p>\n<p>It was poorly organized and the video will reflect how shitty<br \/>\nthe DJ battle actually was. i had a great time last year and<br \/>\nthis year&#8217;s battle was just plain wrong. I won&#8217;t let it get me<br \/>\ndown, i just wish I could&#8217;ve done my new stuff!<\/p>\n<p>I guess I&#8217;ll use it next year.
